Nicholas R. "Nick" Trevino, 85, of 101 Euclid Street, Gardner, died Sunday January 20th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner following a brief illness.
Born in Mexico on September 10, 1922, he was the son of Doroteo and Maria (Ramirez) Trevino.
Mr. Trevino was a repairman employed by Nichols and Stone Co. of Gardner for 10 years, retiring in 1987. He was previously employed by Heywood Wakefield Co. of Gardner.
Nicholas received his G.E.D. in 1951.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Gardner. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Ovila Case Post 905 of Gardner.
Nicholas was a United States WWII Merchant Marine Seaman and a Korean War Army Veteran, respectively. He received the Army Occ Medal and the Korean Service Medal with 5 bronze service stars.
Mr. Trevino was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Lillian K. (Walsh) Trevino, who died November 21, 1990.
He leaves one son, Michael A. Trevino and his wife Susan of Gardner; three brothers, Thomas Trevino of Port Arthur, TX, Jesse Trevino of Beaumont, TX and Necho Trevino of Port Arthur, TX; three sisters, Rufina Collazo of Groves, TX, Jenny Parles of Houston, TX and Theresa Flores of Port Arthur, TX; one granddaughter, Jaclyn Maria Trevino; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 31st at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
