Neil F. Hirons, 65, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner.
Born in Gardner on November 13, 1952, he was the son of the late Frank K. and Claire (Hughes) Hirons.
Neil graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1970. He attended Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business from North Adams State College.
Neil was a self-employed upholsterer for many years.
He was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Neil was an avid reader and a loyal fan of the New England Patriots.
He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Joanne J. (Albert) Hirons, who died December 24, 2017.
Neil leaves one son, Jonathan F. Hirons and his significant other Jennifer Burris of Orinda, CA; one daughter, Karsa M. Hirons and her significant other Shawn Baronoski of Phillipston; three brothers, Mark Hirons and his wife Ruth of Gardner, Stephen Hirons and his wife Colleen of Gardner, and Matthew Hirons of Gardner; one sister, Janet Vallee of Falmouth, MA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 21st at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours. Family and friends are asked to report directly to the church the morning of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
