Neil "Bubba" A. Borkowski, 47, of 409 Pleasant Street, Gardner, died Friday, March 23rd in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a brief illness.
He was born in Gardner on May 31, 1959, the son of Edmond and Dorilla (LeBlanc) Borkowski.
Neil was a machinist employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Westminster for 27 years, retiring in 2004.
He graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1976.
Neil was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Gardner. He was a member of the 4th Degree Bishop Beaven Assembly of the Knights of Columbus, Gardner. He was a past on-call firefighter with the Gardner Fire Department for 15 years.
Neil enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Nascar and football enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He leaves his wife of 21 years, Roberta A. (Couture) Borkowski of Gardner; his mother, Dorilla (LeBlanc) Borkowski of Gardner; 3 daughters, Julie A. Cormier and her husband William, Stephanie L. Borkowski and Kimberly S. Borkowski all of Gardner, 1 brother, Glen Borkowski and his wife Kathy of Gardner; 1 sister, Linda White and her husband Robert of Hubbardston; 2 grandchildren, Amber and Sophia Cormier; several aunts, 1 uncle, several nieces, 1 nephew and several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Edmond Borkowski, who died in November of 1979.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, March 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
