Nancy Ann Casavoy

Nancy Ann (Speed) Casavoy, 56, of 140 Cashman Hill Road, Ashburnham died peacefully, Friday, December 14, 2012 in her residence surrounded by family following a brief illness.
Born in Fitchburg on May 22, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Helen (Hyde) Speed.
Nancy graduated from Fitchburg High School, Fitchburg in 1974. She later earned her Nursing Degree from Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner in 1986.
Nancy was a Registered Nurse employed in the Intensive Care Unit of Heywood Hospital, Gardner for 25 years, retiring in 2011.
She was a fabulous cook, exquisite gardener and talented seamstress. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, doing counted cross-stitch and puzzles. Nancy cherished time spent with her family and her dog Brooklyn. Nancy also enjoyed spending summers in Vermont.
She leaves her husband of 26 years, Kevin C. Casavoy of Ashburnham; one son, Eric S. Progin of Gardner; two daughters, Jessica H. Progin of Gardner and Abbey H. Casavoy of Boston; two brothers, Gary J. Speed and his wife Robie of Walpole, NH and Robert C. Speed and his partner Donna of Winchendon; two sisters, Patricia L. Kalagher and her husband David of Gardner and Mary Maki-Boisclair and her partner Gerry of Worcester; her step-mother, Barbara Speed of Fitchburg; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 20th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, December 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
