Nadia I. (Gauvin) Hachey, 95, of Gardner, died peacefully, Saturday, December 5, 2020, in her residence with her family by her side.
Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, on January 31, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Edgar T. and Annie (Cormier) Gauvin. Nadia was a stockroom clerk employed by Digital Equipment Corporation for 5-years before her retirement in 1975.
Nadia was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner and its Ladies of Ste. Anne Society. She was a member of the Gardner Golden Agers. Nadia was gifted at sewing, needlepoint, and doing crafts. She enjoyed working on word puzzles and coloring. She was an excellent cook and loved to make meals for her family and friends. Nadia loved to go out dancing. But the time that she cherished the most was spent with her family.
Nadia is survived by her daughter, Annette L. Maylin of Gardner; two sons, Jean-Paul Hachey of Leominster and Raymond J. Hachey of Gardner; six grandchildren, Sarah René and her husband Michael, Derek Maylin and his significant other Alyssa Moore, Amanda Maylin and her significant other Zenon Dunchus, Heather Hachey, Megan Hachey and her significant other Ryan Cook, and Mary Hachey; fifteen great-grandchildren, Brandon, Leanne, Jackson, Logan, Emma, Isla, Shaela, Kaelanni, Cameron, Zaccaria, Alexandria, Giovani, Lydia, Morgan, and Jordan; a sister, Theresa Peters and her husband John of Lunenburg; a brother, Henry Gauvin and his wife Marie of Connecticut; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43-years, Gerald J. Hachey, who died in 1999; an infant son, Roger J. Hachey; two sisters, Bertha Gauvin and Marguerite Melanson; three brothers, Laurie, Robert, and Clarence Gauvin; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Hachey.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will be held at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
