Myrtle P""Myrt"" Hoag

Myrtle P. "Myrt" (Goodness) Hoag, 90, of 125 Connors Street, Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the Legend Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Gardner, following a courageous battle with lymphoma.
Born in Gardner on February 7, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Edna (Rocheleau) Goodness.
Myrtle was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She spent her life as a loving, devoted, loyal wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren will forever hold special "Hoagie" memories dear to their heart.
Myrtle loved creating all types of arts and crafts, including floral arrangements and jewelry. She enjoyed cooking, playing BINGO and taking trips to Foxwoods. Her greatest claim to fame was winning the $12,000.00 jackpot in Las Vegas, which she proudly told everyone she came in contact with. She had a wonderful personality, combined with a witty sense of humor and loved being with people and making them laugh. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Myrtle was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Stanton B. Hoag, who died in 1971.
She leaves four daughters, Nancy C. Hoag of Gardner, Gayle L. Wislocki and her husband Dave of Gardner, Dolores C. St.Pierre and her husband Reynold of Winchendon and Valerie A. Kelley and her husband Paul of Gardner; one son, Wayne F. Hoag of Washington; one brother, Normand LaBonte and his wife Geraldine of Gardner; one sister, Dorothy Taylor and her husband John of CA; eighteen grandchildren, Tyler, Jamison, Katelyn, Ashley, Tina, Jodi, David, Brandi, Keith, Tracy, David, Kelly, Michael, Jamie, Holly, Amanda, Kelly and Christine; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Ruuska who died in 2000; and by one sister, Rita LaRoche.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 12th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be Monday, May 12th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
