Michael "Mike" D. Voss, 51, of 49 Howard St., Gardner died Monday, March 8th in UMASS Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, following an illness.
Born in Jacksonville, FL on December 22, 1952, he was the son of Gregory and Dolores (Daniels) Ritucci.
At the time of his death he was a Medical Records Clerk employed by the Worcester House of Correction, Worcester County Sheriffs Office where he worked for the past 8 years. He was also a part-time sales clerk in the Electronics Dept. at Wal-Mart.
He was a 1970 graduate of Portsmouth High School.
Mr. Voss was a member of Montachusett Veterans' Outreach Center of Gardner, American Legion Eugene M. Connor Post 193 of Winchendon and was a Reserve Deputy for Worcester County Sheriffs Department. He enjoyed fishing.
He was a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran and received the Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal (4th award), Overseas Service Ribbon, Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal, Expert Badge Grenade Launcher, Expert Badge Rifle M-16, Lapel Button and the National Defense Service Medal.
He leaves his wife of 16 years, Darlene G. (Stebbins) Voss, 4 sons, Dale E. Voss, Dustin M. Voss, Joseph K. Voss all of Gardner and Jason M. Voss of Minot, ND; 1 brother, Keith W. Voss of Yarmouth, ME; 2 sisters, Darlene A. Baxter of Zephyrhills, FL and Michelle Stephens of South Berwick, ME; 1 granddaughter due in April; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12th at 8:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, March 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
