Michael J"Mike" LaFond

Michael J. "Mike" LaFond, 59, of Royalston, died peacefully Sunday, February 25, 2018 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center of Worcester following a brief illness.
Mike was born in Gardner on March 6, 1958, the son of the late Henry LaFond and Rita (Norcross) (LaFond) Allen. He graduated from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School of Fitchburg with the Class of 1976.
Mike was currently employed by Data Guide Cable Corporation of Gardner as a Supervisor for the past 27 years.
He enjoyed riding his Harley and was a member of the Harley Owners Group. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, and he enjoyed attending classic rock concerts. Mike adored his grandkids and loved spending time with his family.
Besides his mother, Rita (Norcross) (LaFond) Allen of Royalston, he leaves his wife of 31 years, Diane M. (Haarala) LaFond of Royalston; two sons, Jason M. Jones and his wife Susanne of Westminster, and Michael K. LaFond and his fiancé Meghan Bernier of Athol; two brothers, Gary Allen and his wife Kathy of Gardner, and Donnie Allen and his wife Sue of Hubbardston; one sister Debbie of Texas; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Mikko, Jameson, Amy and Timothy; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 1st at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery of Gardner at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
