Born in Fitchburg on January 23, 1946, he was the son of the late Dudley Gerry and Myrtle (Rice) Moody. Mike graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1964. He received a Master’s in Education from Suffolk University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Anna Maria College. He was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1969 to 1971. Mike’s community involvement in Gardner was his passion. Mike was a lifelong Scouter. He became the Gardner Scout Master in 1994, serving almost 30 years in the position. He was a very kind and generous man, donating his time whenever he could. He was part of many different boards and charities in Gardner. He served on the Redevelopment Authority, the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Gardner Visiting Nurses Association, Rotary International, and the Adjutant for the Gardner American Legion Post 129, as well as many other organizations and committees throughout the years. Mike dedicated his life to giving back to his community. When he had free time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping. Mike was also a lifelong Red Sox fan.

Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebecca (Marean) Gerry of Gardner; a son, Patrick Gerry of Gardner; a daughter, Lauren Gerry of Gardner; one grandchild, Cruz Castillo of Gardner; and many devoted and caring friends.
