Michael A. Bishop, 64, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester.
Born in Gardner on September 26, 1958, he was the son of Claire L. (Barrows) Bishop of Gardner and the late Glenn C. Bishop Jr. Michael was a graduate of Athol High School. He was a woodworker employed by B & B Custom Furniture of South Royalston, Modern Contract of Gardner, Denardo Wire and Cable of Fitchburg. He was a woodworker employed by ModuForm of Fitchburg for many years prior to his retirement.
Michael enjoyed going to flea markets and antiquing. He had a green thumb and loved growing plants of all varieties. Michael also loved to woodwork away from work and loved to help others with projects. His greatest joy was his family, always treasuring their time together.
Besides his mother, Michael is survived by his brother, Glenn C. Bishop III and his wife Rhonda of South Royalston; a sister, Cindy E. Towle and her husband Alan Towle of Wales; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at the Jonas Alliene Cemetery, Winchendon Road, Royalston, MA.
A Calling Hour will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
