Mercedes G. Ramos

Mercedes G. Ramos, 92, of Hubbardston, died peacefully Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, Baldwinville, after an illness.

Born in Mira de Aire, Portugal, on November 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Manuel J. Ramos and Rosa Gaspar. Mercedes was a factory worker making blankets for several years prior to her retirement.

Mercedes was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner and Annunciation Parish / Holy Spirit Chapel of Gardner. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, watching television, and sewing. But the time that Mercedes loved the most was spent with her family.

Mercedes is survived by her grandson, Matthew Gaspar of Conway, MA; a daughter-in-law, Maria Adelina Gaspar of Hubbardston; a sister, Maria Ramos of Switzerland; two sisters-in-law, Erene Ramos of Portugal and Maria Zé Ramos of Connecticut; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jose Mira Rodrigues; her son, Artur Gaspar; and two brothers, Abilio and Artur Ramos.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 18, 2021, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.
