Mercedes M. (Dorval) Jacques, 95, of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville and formerly of 22 Bancroft Street, Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, June 27th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville.
Mrs. Jacques was born in Gardner on April 25, 1915, the daughter of the late Herve and Eva (Comtois) Dorval.
Mercedes graduated from St. Anne's Academy in Marlboro, MA with the Class of 1932.
She was a Medical Secretary employed by Dr. Owen Christiansen in Gardner for several years. She previously worked for Dr. Motkar Reddy and the late Dr. Trento Domenici, both of Gardner.
Mrs. Jacques was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was devout Catholic, who enjoyed reciting the Rosary and had great faith in St. Jude.
She enjoyed entertaining, cooking for her family and spending time with them. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, watching the game show Jeopardy on television, listening to the daily news and she was an avid reader.
Mrs. Jacques was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Arthur H. Jacques who died in 1977.
She leaves one son, Phillip W. Jacques of Gardner; two daughters, Joanne M. Morrissey and her husband John of Gardner and Denise A. Richard and her husband Joseph of Gardner; two daughters-in-law, Marie Jacques of Templeton and Carol A. Jacques of E. Templeton; one brother, Roger B. Dorval of Gainsville, FL; ten grandchildren, Christopher Jacques, Brian Jacques, Lisa Decatur, Shelley Stuart, Eric Jacques, Robert Jacques, Kathy Boudreau, Lynn Morrissey, Jonathan Landry and Amy Landry Hibbert; sixteen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son David P. Jacques who died in 2007 and by one grandson, Daniel Jacques, who died in 1986.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 30th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Wednesday, June 30th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
