Melvin H. Woltering

Melvin H. Woltering, 76, of 72 Ash Street, Gardner and formerly of Lincoln, Delaware, died peacefully Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in the Legend Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Gardner.
Born in Breese, Illinois on January 30, 1936, he was the son of the late Herman F. and Josephine (Richier) Woltering. He was raised on the family farm in Breese, and enjoyed working on the farm.
Melvin graduated from Breese High School with the Class of 1953.
He was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1958 through 1961.
Prior to retiring in 1980, he was employed as a Security Guard for the Methuen Mall in Methuen, MA.
Melvin enjoyed playing cards, fishing and visiting with his grandchildren.
He leaves three sons, Marvin Woltering of Gardner, Brian Woltering of Bonne Terre, Missouri and Wayne Woltering and his wife Lauri Paty of Bonne Terre, Missouri; one sister, Betty Lindsey and her husband Floyd of O'Fallon, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Mary Woltering of Breese, IL; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two daughters, Dores Stoffel and Sandy Woltering; one brother, Victor Woltering; and by his former wife, Margit (Neuhauser) Woltering.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 2nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, October 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
