May J. (Girard) Serrell, 100, of 94 Summer Street, Fitchburg, formerly of 125 Connors Street, Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, October 29th in Hillcrest Nursing Home, Fitchburg.
May was born on December 13, 1908 in Montgomery, Vermont, the daughter of Charles and Julia (Lamore) Girard.
She graduated from Mount St. Mary's Academy in Burlington, Vermont.
May was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
May spent her life as a homemaker and enjoyed crafts, reading, watching television and politics.
She was predeceased by her first husband of 32 years, Bradie Forrester who died in 1967, and by her second husband of 23 years, Wilfred H. Serrell, who died in 1991.
May leaves two sons, Thomas C. Forrester and his wife Judith of Gardner and John D. Forrester of Tuscon, Arizona; one daughter, C. Jane Levesque and her husband Richard of Windham, Maine; one son-in-law, Richard Allard of Gardner; eleven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one daughter, Donna J. Allard who died in 2001; three brothers, Arthur, Earl and George Girard; three sisters, Veda Jaaskalainen, Ruth Brunell and Elsie Rushford.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 3rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Tuesday, November 3rd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
