May (Barrieau) (Robichaud) Heaps, 79, of 194 Central St., Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, January 22nd in her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Gardner on June 26, 1926, she was the daughter of Elisie and Ada (Johnson) Barrieau.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed traveling and watching tennis on television.

Her first husband of 42 years, Normand Robichaud, died in 1988. Her last husband of 5 years, E. Warren Heaps, died in 1996.

She leaves 3 sons, Mitchell N. Robichaud of San Jose, CA, Paul E. Robichaud and wife Jan P. of Gardner, John F. Robichaud and wife Barbara J. of Gardner; 4 daughters, Phyllis Neale and husband Douglas, JoAnn Stacey and husband James, April Grenke and husband Richard all of Gardner, Susan Boudreau and husband Stephen of Concord, NH; a dear companion, Lou Owens of Gardner; 17 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Philias and Roger Barrieau.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 12:00 noon in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 79 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, January 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gardner Visiting Nursing Assn., Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
