Maud B. (Baker) Edwards, 83, of 6 Worcester Road, Hubbardston died Wednesday, January 23rd in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Gardner following a noble struggle with kidney disease.
Born in Gardner on December 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Milan and Maud (Thrower) Baker.
Mrs. Edwards was an inspector employed by Simplex Time Recorder, Gardner for 30 years.
She graduated from Gardner High School, Gardner with the class of 1942.
Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was also a member of the Golden Agers of Hubbardston, and helped plan their trips.
Maud enjoyed creating crafts, cooking and baking. She was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching sports on television, especially the Boston Red Sox and figure skating. Maud especially loved her grandchildren.
Mrs. Baker was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Arthur B. Edwards who died January of 1989,
She leaves one son, Gary S. Edwards of Hubbardston; two daughters, Beth Carrie of Coventry, RI and Dale Goulden of Providence, RI; five grandchildren, Jason Clark, Wendy Brown, James and Cindy Goulden, and Katherine Edwards; six great-grandchildren, Jacqueline and Samantha Clark, Kai Trek, and Kaitlyn, Evelyn and Jared Brown; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Milan Baker.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30th at 1:30 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Greenbower Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Wednesday, January 30th from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
