Matthew T."Matt" Maillet

Matthew T. "Matt" Maillet, 45, of 1107 N.W. Bella Vista Road, Bentonville, Arkansas, and formerly of Gardner, MA, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 27th in his residence.

Born in Gardner on July 11, 1964, he was the son of Herve R.J. Maillet and the late Patricia (Wesockes) Maillet.

At the time of his death, Matthew was a truck driver employed for the past 5 years by Hendren Plastics Co. of Gravette, Arkansas.

Matthew received his G.E.D. in 1981. He was a former member of the V.F.W. of Ware, MA.

Matthew was a United States Army Veteran. He served his country for nine years, which included service in Desert Storm. Matt received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Marksman Marksmanship Rifle Badge, and the Marksman Marksmanship Pistol Badge.

Matthew's hobbies included fishing, hiking and collecting gemstones. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed camping, exploring caves and loved the desert. Matt most enjoyed spending time with his daughter Katie. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his father, Herve Maillet of Hollywood, Florida, Matt leaves his wife of 14 years, Klaudia J. (Knowlton) Maillet of Bentonville, Arkansas; his paternal grandmother, Marie (Richard) Maillet of Gardner; one daughter, Katie S. Maillet of Bentonville, Arkansas; one stepson, Adam P. Knowlton of Bentonville, Arkansas; one stepdaughter, Tonya M.C. Shaw and her husband Keith of Athol; two brothers, Herve R.J. Maillet, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Orange and Jean-Paul J. Maillet and his wife Carla of Millers Falls, MA; two sisters, Kimberly Lee Bourgeois of North Woodstock, CT and Erica M. Maillet of Gardner; six grandchildren, Regina Knowlton, Ricky Clark, Keith Shaw, Jr., Jaime Mae Knowlton, Chance Knowlton and Shawn Knowlton; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.

Calling hours in the funeral home will be Saturday, January 2nd from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
