Mathilda Heglin

Mathilda "Pat" (Breau) Heglin, 94, of 64 Lancaster Rd., Shirley and formerly of Greenwood St., Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, August 14th in Apple Valley Center, Ayer, following a short illness.
Born in Cocagne, NB, Canada on March 12, 1916, she was the daughter of Edouard and Genevieve (Arseneault) Breau.
Mrs. Heglin was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She took much pleasure in visiting friends and family, helping people and was known to be a great cook, especially when serving steamers. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and listening to Lawrence Welk and Tom Jones music.
Her husband of 39 years, Thure Heglin, died in 1976.
She leaves a daughter, Joyce C. LeDuc of Shirley, one granddaughter, Debra L. Sampson of Cape Elizabeth, ME; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Albeni, Lionel, Alban and Josephat Breau, 4 sisters, Ida Lavoie, Clarisse Sanborn, Aurore Cormier and Hilda Query.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 17th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Tuesday, August 17th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to the American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
