Maryellen B. (Moriarty) Pollier, 76, of 229 Waterford Street, Gardner died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Holden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Holden, surrounded by her family following a long battle with COPD.
Born in Winchendon on March 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida (Duval) Moriarty.
Maryellen was employed by Open Arms Nursing Home in Winchendon as a housekeeper for 6 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 747 Women's Auxiliary of Gardner and the Deep Sea Club of Gardner.
Maryellen enjoyed playing bingo, going to Foxwoods, watching Lifetime television shows, and spending time with her family.
She leaves two sons, Robert Lamoureux and his wife Lucille of Worcester and Darrell Lamoureux of Gardner; two daughters, Brenda Lamoureux of Gardner and Colleen Gabis and her husband Robert of Hubbardston; one brother, John Moriarty of Ajo, AZ; one sister-in-law, Lucille Moriarty of Winchendon; her brothers companion, Bernice Blouin of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Kayla Pollier, Christianna Pollier, Kimila Maynard and Judy Lamoureux; five great-grandchildren, Jody Maynard, Samantha Maynard, Dante Maynard, Dory Maynard and Ianna Maki; three step-grandchildren, Roger Clapper, Randall Clapper and Ruby Middleton; three step-great-great-grandchildren, Joseph Clapper, Mark Clapper and Jesalyn Middleton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sons, Joseph Pollier and James Lamoureux; and by three brothers, Thomas, Eugene and George Moriarty.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 24th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, January 23rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 393 Maple Street, Springfield, MA 01105.
