Maryann (Rodski) Langlois 82, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at home surrounded by her family, following a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on April 4, 1933, she was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Urban) Rodski.
Maryann was a lifelong resident of Gardner. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1950, where she was in the GHS Band and played field hockey. She later attended Mount Wachusett Community College.
Maryann worked as a bookkeeper for the Probation Dept. at the Gardner District Court for many years, retiring in 1996. Previously, she served as the Student Activities Coordinator at Mount Wachusett Community College. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church.
She was a very talented seamstress, and had a passion for quilting. She also traveled extensively within the US and abroad, pursuing outdoor activity and taking advantage of the Elderhostel programs. Until recently, Maryann greatly enjoyed her daily swimming get-together with her friends at the MWCC pool, and was very active with the "Walking Group". She was also a legendary bargain hunter and an expert holiday candy chef. Above all, Maryann loved spending time and participating in activities with her friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Langlois, who died in 1971.
Maryann leaves two sons, John N. Langlois and his wife Nellie of Gardner and Michael J. Langlois and his wife Terri of Templeton; one daughter, Ann-Marie Murray and her husband Martin of Bow, NH; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Langlois, Jim Langlois, Kurt Langlois, Erin Murray, Jacob Langlois, Sheila Murray and Sam Langlois; five nephews, David Rodski, Peter Rodski, Pierre Langlois, Joseph Jasulavic, Dennis Jasulavic; two nieces, Sue Walker and Michelle Arsenault; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her grandson Andy Langlois, Her brother, Alvin Rodski; Her sister, Helen Jasulavic; and by nephews Joe and Bob Langlois.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 9th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Monday, February 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
