Mary E. (Peterson) Smeltekop, 63, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, June 10, 2021, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.
Born in Fitchburg on January 3, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Eillen (Patnode) Peterson. She was a graduate of Oakmont Regional High School and received some college credit.
Mary enjoyed going to church. But the time that she loved the most was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Mary is survived by her three sons, Jeremey Smeltekop and his wife Carrie of Ashburnham, Christopher Smeltekop of Westminster, and Eric Peterson of Gardner; four grandchildren, Lexi, Charlie, Theodore, and Layne; a sister, Edith Stabere and her husband Harvey of Vermont; a brother Robert Peterson of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Peterson.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.
A Calling Hour will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
