Mary Jane (Dwelly) Pelletier, 89, of 200 Nichols Street, Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner following a brief illness.
Born in Templeton on June 21, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edith (Woodbury) Dwelly.
Mary graduated from the former Templeton High School with the Class of 1941.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner and it's Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was also a member of A.A.R.P.
Mary's hobbies included knitting, oil painting and cooking. She enjoyed sewing and made the original girls uniforms for Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School in Gardner. Mary spent many years as a caregiver for her brother in law, Rene Pelletier.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Victor J. Pelletier, who died December 15, 2008.
She leaves one son, Raymond J. Pelletier and his wife Barbara (Berfelz) of Gardner; one daughter, Jeannine M. Damstetter and her husband Paul of Gardner; one sister-in-law, MaryJane Dwelly of Templeton; four grandchildren, Johanna Kirouac, Anthony Kirouac, Nicole Damstetter and Kristina Oden; one great-grandson, Kyle Kirouac; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, John Dwelly and by one sister, Margaret Fisher.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 14th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, July 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
