Mary S. (Exarchos) Moutsos, 68, of 177 Elm St., Gardner died unexpectedly Sunday, September 26th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on March 21, 1936, she was the daughter of George V. and Vasilike G. (Vettos) Exarchos.
For forty years, until retiring in 1998 she co-owned and operated Paramount Café of Gardner, a family-owned business since 1935.
She was a 1955 graduate of Gardner High School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Fitchburg.
Mrs. Moutsos enjoyed beano, traveling, cooking, reading and sports.
She leaves her husband of 49 years, Stavros "Steve" Moutsos of Gardner; 2 sons, George S. Moutsos and fiancee Jeanelle Beaulieu of Sanford, ME, Peter S. Moutsos and wife Patricia "Pat" of Gardner; 1 daughter, Kelley S. Laban and husband Bruce of Redmond, WA; 1 sister, Kaliope Diakakis of Astoria, NY; 3 grandchildren, Gregory, Zachary and Melinda Laban of Redmond, WA; several nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 grandsons, Peter S. Moutsos of Gardner and William Moutsos of Sanford, ME.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 30th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a 9:30 a.m. service in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1319 Main St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Fitchburg.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, September 29th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
