Mary E. Hietala

Mary E. (Adams) Hietala, 83, of Baldwinville, died peacefully Friday, June 24, 2022, in UMass Memorial HealthAlliance Hospital, Leominster, with her family by her side.

Born in Manhattan, New York, on February 19, 1939, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Mary C. (McCann) Adams. She graduated from Public School 125 in Queens, NY, with the Class of 1958. Mary was a CNA for 37-years where she was employed by Eastwood Pines, Wachusett Manor, and Heywood Hospital, all for several years.

Mary was a parishioner of the former Saint Bernard’s Church of Fitchburg. She was an avid reader and shopper, enjoyed watching television, and was an avid fan of her Boston Red Sox. Mary loved to take trips to see shows and concerts and travel to Florida. She enjoyed playing with her dog “Puppy” and caring for Tracie. Mary’s greatest joy was when she was with her family, treasuring the special moments they had together.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Tammi M. Lloyd of Baldwinville, Theresa M. Hietala and her significant other Mark Fleming of Hubbardston. Tracie M. Leroy of Hubbardston, son-in-law John W Lloyd of East Templeton: and two grandchildren, Katerina L. Lloyd of Baldwinville and Kristen A. Lloyd of Winchendon.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Kevin C. Leroy.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Goodrich Street, Fitchburg, MA.

A Calling Hour will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
