Mary Anne (Fonzi) Griffin, 84, of Gardner passed away peacefully Friday, September 23, 2016 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner.
Born in Everett, MA on February 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Guistina (Zulli) Fonzi.
Mary Anne graduated from Everett High School with the Class of 1950. She was a member for many years of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Mary Anne was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years she collected a large library of cookbooks from around the world. She was also a sports fan and enjoyed attending and watching football and baseball.
Mary Anne was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Earl F. Griffin, who died in 2015.
She was the devoted mother of Patrick & wife Tina of Gardner, Michael of Gardner, Kevin & wife Judy of Gardner, Kate Peelen & husband John of Falmouth, Maine, Paul & wife Elizabeth of Groveland, MA, John & wife Vivien of Stockton, CA, Matthew of Ponte Vedra, FL, Martha Munhall & husband Patrick of Eliot, ME and Mary Jost & husband Jesse of Hampton, NH. She was the loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Peter and six siblings.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 6th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 6th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
