Mary C. (Buckley) Brodeur, 91, of Life Care Center of Leominster Leominster and formerly of 267 Pleasant St., Gardner died peacefully Thursday, June 8th in Health Alliance - Leominster Hospital, Leominster, following a short illness.
Born in Fitchburg on June 23, 1914, she was the daughter of James and Mary (McGurn) Buckley.
She was part owner of the former Mohawk Sportland of Gardner for several years until retiring in 1966.
She was a 1932 graduate of St. Bernard's High School and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Mrs. Brodeur was a collector of banks and enjoyed reading, bingo, knitting, crocheting, watching horse racing, baseball and basketball.
Her husband of 27 years, Ernest Brodeur, died in 1966.
She leaves 2 sons, Thomas Brodeur and wife Lorraine C. of Gardner, Douglas Brodeur and wife Rosemary of Fitchburg; 4 grandchildren, Steven, Kevin, Michael, Christopher Brodeur; 2 great-grandchildren, Lorelei and Duncan Brodeur; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, James J. Buckley Jr., Robert Buckley and 1 sister, Helen Robichaud.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 12th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, June 11th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
