Marshall J. Spaan, Jr., 61 of 18 Dana Hill Road, Sterling, died Wednesday, June 6th in Umass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born in Kansas City, MO on September 30, 1945, the son of Marshall J. and Catherine (Garabrant) Spaan, Sr.
Marshall was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School. He received his Bachelors Degree from Burdette Business College, Boston and he attended St. Anselm's College.
Marshall was a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He was a sports enthusiast, and enjoyed NASCAR racing, hockey, tennis, baseball, football and college basketball.
Besides his parents of Williamsburg, VA, he leaves one son, Michael J. Spaan and his wife Rosemary of Baldwinville; one daughter, Jennifer Spaan of Sarasota, FL; one sister, Marion Patterson of Toano, VA; two grandchildren, Jeffrey M. and Emily R. Spaan of Baldwinville; and two nieces and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 12:30 p.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest Street, Baldwinville.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Saturday, June 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm.
