Mark “Conrad” C. Hanks, 65, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, February 11, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family after an illness.
Born in Gardner on October 12, 1957, he was the son of Rose Marie (Laliberte) Hanks of North Port, FL and the late Francis Hanks. He served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard serving from 1974 to 1984 where he served as an infantryman. Mark was a Truck Driver employed by Rand Whitney of Worcester for several years prior to his retirement. In retirement, he was employed part-time by Goguen Transportation of Gardner.
Mark was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was a Master Mason of the Hope Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Gardner, a member of the International Truck Club, retired Teamster Local 170 and a Million Mile Award recipient. Mark loved being outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four wheeling. He loved riding motorcycles and had a love for John Deere Tractors. Mark’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, treasuring all the special times together.
Besides his mother, Mark is survived by his daughter, Nicole “Nikki” E. Weinheimer and her husband Chad of Barre; two grandchildren, Mac and Mia Weinheimer of Barre; a brother, Steven Hanks and his fiancé Cathy Cormier of Gardner; a sister, Kathy Carr and her fiancé Mike Lambert of North Port, FL; a close cousin, David Hanks; his best friends, Brad Bush, Michael Bushey and his wife Karen, and Michael Gelsomini; his granddogs, Tober and Auggie; several nieces, nephews and several other cousins.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his first wife, Sheryl J. (L’Homme) Hanks, who died in 2002; his second wife, Joyce M. (Alie) Hanks, who died in 2019; two brothers, Brian Hanks, who died the morning of February 11, 2023, and Gary Hanks.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
Calling Hours will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
