Mark A. Akin, 47, of 47 Heywood St., Fitchburg, died Sunday, Nov. 28th in Leominster Hospital, Leominster, following an illness.
Born in Heidelberg, Germany on February 4, 1957, he was the son of Albert and Jeannette (Provencher) Akin.
He was a 1975 graduate of Ayer High School and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Baldwinville.
Mr. Akin enjoyed music.
His wife, Debbie (Guthrie) Akin died in 1998.
Besides his parents of Baldwinville he leaves a son, Daniel Akin of Fitchburg; 3 brothers, John A. Akin of Mesa, AZ, Jeffrey P. Akin and wife Lisa of Wichita, KS, Michael J. Akin and wife Carrie of Baldwinville; 5 sisters, Karen J. Harris and husband George of Clifton Park, NY, Patricia A. Hartsfield and husband Steve of Keithville, LA, Mary E. Kelly and husband Dan of Fayetteville, NC, Suzan T. Wojcian and husband Steve of Richmond Hill, GA and Janet C. Cubas and husband Alex of Italy; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 2nd @ 8:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, December 2nd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101 First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02154.
