Marie (Poirier) Thibeau, 92, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner and formerly of 142 Baldwinville Road, Templeton died Sunday, May 1, 2011 in
Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, surrounded by her family, following a long illness.
Marie was born in Rogersville, N.B. Canada on January 23, 1919, the daughter of the late Narcisse and Emma (Hebert) Poirier.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, and it's Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was also a member of the Gardner Golden Agers.
Marie was a seamstress, and enjoyed knitting, cooking, traveling and playing bingo. Her favorite television shows were "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy". She also enjoyed watching the Catholic French Mass on television. Marie loved spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Antoine Thibeau, who died January 4, 1989.
Marie leaves, two sons, Andy Thibault of Gardner and Donald Thibeau of Gardner; three daughters, Irma Thibault of Green Valley, AZ, Gisele Perreault of Columbus Junction, Iowa and Diane M. Arseneau and her husband Alcide of Templeton; one brother, Louis Poirier of Gardner; four sisters, Beatrice Richard of Rogersville, N.B. Canada, Flora Poirier of Gardner; Anita Johnson of Gardner Bertha Leonard of Gardner; nine grandchildren, Scott Thibeau, Nicole Lubao, Marcie Lambert, Donna Robinson, Debra Spaulding, David Dymek, Sandra Robichaud, Lisa Arseneau and Alicia Thibault; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Eric J. Thibeau who died April 24, 1994 and by one brother, Albert Poirier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday, May 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
