Marie Elina (Hamel) Quinlisk, 90, of 403 State Road, Otter River, died Tuesday, June 24th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, following a long illness.
Born in Watertown, on October 4, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Leander A. and Marguerite M. (Gaudet) Hamel.
Marie was a cashier employed by Atters Bros. Market in Gardner for thirty years, retiring in 1982.
Marie was a member of St. Martins Church, Templeton.
She enjoyed reading, watching television and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Marie was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Francis M. Quinlisk, Sr. who died August 14, 1995.
She leaves one son, Francis M. Quinlisk, Jr. of Enfield, NH; one daughter, Claire Marie Quinlisk of Otter River; two brothers, Edgar Hamel of Edmond, Oklahoma and Ray Hamel and his wife Gwenda of Apple Valley, CA; two sisters, Malvina McCusker of Gardner and Margaret Villani of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Alexis, Paul and Emile Hamel and by two sisters, Rita Moriarty and Sister Marie Hamel of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 1st with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Martin's Church, 247 State Road, Otter River. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin's Church, 247 State Road, Otter River, MA 01436 or to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Assoc., 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
