Marie Louise Chartrand

Marie Louise (Pelletier) Chartrand, 82, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2023, in Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, after an illness.

Born in Gardner on January 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Henry X. and Loretta M. (Girouard) Pelletier. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1958. Marie was an Assembler employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner and Westminster for many years prior to her retirement in 2001.

Marie was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, where she made fudge for its annual church Bazaar, volunteered her time, and attended mass regularly. She also enjoyed making rosaries for the missions. Marie’s greatest joy was her family, treasuring all the special moments they had together.

Marie is survived by two sisters, Sr. Lorraine Pelletier, Presentation of Mary of Marlboro, and Anita N. DiRusso of Leominster; a brother, Raymond Pelletier and his wife Helen of Ocala, FL; a niece, Laura DiRusso; a nephew, Michael Pelletier; several great-nieces, great-nephews, and several cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas J. Chartrand; two brothers, Ronald P., and J. Robert Pelletier; and a nephew, Anthony DiRusso.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be held in the spring.

A Calling Hour will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
