Marian A. Walendziak

Marian A. (Trinque) Walendziak, 94, of 4 Chapman Park, Gardner, died peacefully Thursday surrounded by her family in Baldwinville Nursing Home.
Marian was born in Gardner on May 1, 1916, the daughter of Alfred J. and Marie (Antil) Trinque and lived in East Templeton before returning to Gardner in 1948.
Before she was married, she worked at Hedstrom Union in Gardner and also worked as a governess in Boston. During World War II, Marian worked in Webster inspecting military uniforms and equipment.
Marian attended Templeton schools. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner.
Marian loved cooking, knitting, reading and gardening. But most of all, she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. A very interesting and interested conversationalist, she spent her most enjoyable hours in the company of her loving family and friends.
On one of the happiest days of her life, at Holy Rosary Church on Oct. 21, 1950, Marian married Mitchell (Mike) Walendziak, who died in 2004. She passed away on the day of their 60th wedding anniversary.
She was predeceased by one brother, Alfred E. Trinque, and two sisters, Lucille Burpee and Rachel Frenier.
Marian leaves her daughter, Janice Gearan and her husband, Jay of Gardner; her sons Jim Walendziak of Canton, GA; and Dick Walendziak and his wife Joan, of West Boylston. She also leaves her seven grandchildren; Jack Gearan of Brookline, Michael Gearan of Cambridge, Nicholas Walendziak of Las Vegas, NV; Ashleigh Michaels of Norcross, GA.; Alex Walendziak of Rockville, MD; and Ross and Ali Walendziak of West Boylston. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, October 24th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
