Maria (Terranova) Nault, 87, of Westminster, died peacefully Sunday, February 2, 2025, in UMass Memorial HealthAlliance Hospital, Leominster, after an illness with her family by her side.
Born in Salemi, Sicily, Italy, on February 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Agata (Piazza) Terranova. She was a cook employed by Leominster Hospital for many years until her retirement.
Maria was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church of Westminster. She was always on the move, going on her five-mile daily walk and doing work as a seamstress. Maria's love for cooking and entertaining her friends and family was a source of joy for all who knew her. Her most incredible pride and treasure was her family, treasuring her time as a mother to all her family.
Maria is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rene J. Nault of Westminster; three daughters, Michelle Nault and her husband Mitchell Pasenkoff of Wrentham, Debra Nault of Westminster and Donna Decarolis and her husband David of Fitchburg; a son, James Nault and his wife Lee Ann of Lunenburg; a grandchild, Ryan Decarolis; a sister, Joanne Ardagna and her husband Salvatore “Sam” of Fitchburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother, Charlie Terranova.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 21, 2025, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 14 Church Street, Westminster, MA. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, 474 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg, MA, will be held at a later date.
