Marguerite O. (Bourgeois) Bastarache, 85, of 32 Hospital Hill Rd., Gardner, died Saturday, February 4th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Bouctouche, NB, Canada on May 2, 1920, she was the daughter of Joseph and Adeline (Richard) Bourgeois.
She was an assembly worker employed by Foster Grant Co. of Leominster for several years until retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Bastarache was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She was an immaculate housekeeper who enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and canning.
Her husband of 54 years, Frank Bastarache, died in 1992.
She leaves 1 daughter, Elda A. Gormley and husband Stephen of Lancaster; 2 sisters, Delia Hachey of Shediac, NB, Canada and Sally LeBlanc and husband Alyre of New Bedford; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Cloris, Edmond, Oliver, Charles Bourgeois and 1 sister, Irene Blacquiere.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 8th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, February 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
