Margaret E. Piper

Margaret E. (Houghton) Piper, 57, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.

Born in San Fernando Valley, California, on November 23, 1963, she was the daughter of Elizabeth M. (Lucas) Houghton the late Donald L. Houghton, Jr. She graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School with the Class of 1981. Margaret was a Paralegal employed by the Law Office of Richard Harris of Leominster for many years. She was a gifted candle maker and was the proud owner of Fairy Dust Candles for many years.

Margaret loved the arts and was very artsy herself and enjoyed making crafts of all sorts. Margaret also enjoyed yard sales with Rick, storage bin auctions, and playing cards. But of all the things she loved, what she truly cherished the most was time spent with her family, especially at family gatherings.

Besides her mother, Elizabeth M. Houghton of Gardner and Florida, Margaret is survived by a daughter, Ellen Webb of Hudson; a son, Jonathan Webb of Worcester; a grandchild, Layla Webb; a sister, Janna McPherson and her husband Gardner of Gardner; two brothers, Donald Houghton, III of Greenfield, and Everett Houghton and his wife Tonya of Alabama; two stepdaughters, Julia of Westminster and Susan of Texas; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her father, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard N. Piper.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at South Cemetery, South Main Street, Orange, MA, will be private.

A Calling Hour will be held Friday, October 15, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
