Madeline M. (Cormier) Astramowicz, 99, of 1079 West Street, Gardner, died surrounded by her family, Wednesday, March 24th in UMASS Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave North, Worcester, following complications from a fall.
Born in St. Paul, N.B. Canada on January 21, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Elizabeth (Cormier) Cormier.
Prior to retiring in 1972, Madeline was an assembler employed for 32 years by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Gardner. Madeline was also a member of the of the Gardner Chapter of A.A.R.P. and the Gardner Senior Citizens.
Her hobbies included playing cards and bingo. She enjoyed frequenting restaurants and loved her cat "Baby".
Madeline was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, John Astramowicz, who died in 1982.
Madeline leaves one son, Gerald Cormier and his wife Beverly D. of Wells, Maine; six grandchildren, Bradley Cormier and his wife Sylvia, Kelley Cormier, Sharon Waning and her husband Glenn, Kathleen Lavalee, Alison Lombardo and her husband Dean and Kori Torrissi and her husband Noel; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by six brothers, Henry, Arthur, Prosper, Hector, Desire and Edward Cormier and by five sisters, Jeanne Belliveau, Cecile Cormier, Lodia Cormier, Pauline Marion and Jean Cormier.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 29th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, March 29th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
