Madeleine L. Mailloux

Madeleine L. (Bourgeois) Mailloux, 86, of Clearwater Florida, formerly of Gardner, died Monday, August 15, 2011 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.
Madeleine was born in Gardner on April 11, 1925, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Clara (St. Hilaire) Bourgeois.
She was graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1943, and later attended Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, Assumption College in Worcester and Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner.
Madeleine was a School Teacher employed by Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School in Gardner for 22 years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner and St. Michael of the Arc Angel Church in Clearwater, Florida.
Madeleine enjoy playing Bingo, Bunco and cards and doing puzzles. Her favorite television shows were the Food Network, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was a great cook, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Madeleine leaves her husband of 64 years, Robert H. Mailloux of Clearwater, Fl; three sons, Robert C. Mailloux and his wife Pamela of Westfield, MA, Edward G. Mailloux and his fiancée Doreen Sawyer of Hampton, NH and Joseph P. Mailloux and his wife Sheila of Templeton; two daughters, Roberta A. Lajoie and her husband Ronald of Gardner and Constance P. Breault and her husband Peter of Hubbardston; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Lajoie, Bradley Lajoie, Rebecca Lannon, Timothy Mailloux, Christopher Mailloux, Andrew Mailloux, Alison Mailoux, Paul Breault and Jay Breault; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Mary Margaret Mailloux; one brother, Roland Bourgeois; one sister, Pauline Jaillet and by her grandson, Jeremy Laroche who died in 2005.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, August 17th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, at a later date.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, August 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
