M. Florence Casavant

M. Florence "Flo" (Albert) Casavant, 90, of 32 Hospital Hill Rd., Gardner, formerly of 145 Pelley St. Gardner and Athol from 1927 to 1946, died peacefully Sunday, August 1st in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, surrounded by her family.
Born in Leominster on May 8, 1920, she was the daughter of Alphonse and Florence (Chiasson) Albert.
She was a clerk employed by the former Digital Mfg. Co. of Westminster for 11 years until her retirement in 1983. She was previously a cafeteria worker at the Waterford Street School, Gardner.
Florence was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
She enjoyed watching television, especially "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy". Flo loved playing cards; her favorite games being whist and bid-whist. She loved to reminisce about her past experiences with her many friends and family. She knew everyone, one way or another. Her favorite all-time quote was "The Love of a Family and Friends is Life's Greatest Blessing."
Her husband of 58 years, Norman F. Casavant, died in 2004.
She leaves one son, Bradley N. Casavant of Gardner; 2 daughters, Karen A. Luckenbach and her husband Michael of Kingsland, TX, Nancy A. Ackerson and her husband Perley of Windsor, CT; 1 sister, Rita Barnes and her husband Loriston of Athol. Flo cherished being a Memere to her 4 grandchildren, Amanda and Kate Ackerson, Nicholas and Christa Casavant. She also leaves a special niece, Joanne Sheldon of Stanstead, Quebec, Canada; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, Eva Dumas, Clara Kachinsky and Laura Cwartkowski.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 6th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial at a later date will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, August 6th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
