Lucy M. Leger

July 20, 1910 — January 23, 2007

Lucy M. (Richard) (Casey) Leger, 96, of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, formerly of Phoenix Court, Baldwinville , died peacefully Tuesday, January 23rd in Baldwinville Nursing Home following a long illness.

Born in N.B. Canada on July 20, 1910, she was the daughter of Clement and Marguerite (Caissie) Richard.

Mrs. Leger was a stitcher, employed by the former Thayer Manufacturing Company of Gardner, until retiring in 1975.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. Mrs. Leger loved to take automobile rides. She was also very fond of cats.

Mrs. Leger was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Fred Leger, who died in 1973, and by her first husband Alex Casey who died in 1966.

She leaves one daughter, Doris A. Parviainen and her husband Waino of Baldwinville; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, 20 great-great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond J. Casey who died in 2002; five brothers, Fidele Richard, Frederick Richard, Joseph Richard, Adolph Richard and Emilien Richard; two sisters, Marianne Jaillet and Emma Boudreau; and a dear friend Lawrence Taylor who died in 1996.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

A calling hour at the funeral home will be Thursday, January 25th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
