Lucinda “Cindy” A. Amato, 68, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after a brief illness.

Cindy was born in Pomona, California on April 21, 1954 and was the daughter of the late Vincent Amato Jr. and Margaret Tarwater. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1973. Following high school, she enlisted in the United States Army, serving for two years. Following her time in the service, she worked for the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier for 28 years until her retirement in 2007.

Cindy’s greatest joy in life was animals, especially her cat, Alley. She enjoyed a beautiful day on the golf course and spending summers lounging by the pool with friends. Cindy enjoyed football season immensely and was always up for a trip to the casino.

Cindy is survived by her cat, Alley; her stepsister and BFF, Cheryl Amato of Malden; her beloved Aunt, Veronica Haley of Edgewood, TX; and several beloved cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Constance Amato, and her brother, Christopher Amato.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
