Lucille E. Wheelen

Lucille E. (Belanger) Wheelen, 88, a long time resident of Gardner was called safely home on Friday, August 28th, 2009. She passed into eternal life from the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and wonderful caregivers.
Born in Winchendon on May 11, 1921, she was the daughter of Emile L. and Alvinia (Roy) Belanger.
Mrs. Wheelen was a caring and loving individual who was very kind to her family. She enjoyed cleaning, cooking, watching television, especially Lawrence Welk, Mitch Miller and Andre Rioux. Lucille particularly loved the song "Lucille" by Kenny Rogers.
Her husband of 53 years, Raymond Sheldon Wheelen died in 1999.
She leaves 2 daughters, Joan M. Alvarado of San Bernardino, CA, Carol A. Wheelen of Gardner; 1 sister, Pauline Nylin of North Conway, NH; 4 grandchildren, Miguel and Ricardo Alvarado, James Adams Jr., and a beloved granddaughter, Nancy L.W. Adams; 5 greatgrandchildren, Anthony, Angel, Ricardo Alvarado II, Vanessa and Emily Adams; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special niece and nephew Judy & Paul Kuhlman of Cordova, TN. She was predeceased by 2 daughters, Jane Rae Wheelen who died in 1948, Nancy Lee Wheelen who died in 1964; 4 brothers, Wilfred, Paul, Emile and Phillip Belanger; 2 sisters, Rita Diamond and Blanche Gosselin.
Funeral services and calling hours are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner.
