Lucille C. (King) Martin, 84, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on May 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Rose (Daris) King.
Lucille graduated from Cushing Academy of Ashburnham with the Class of 1948.
She was employed for many years by Local 154 UFWA-CIO Building Assoc., Inc. of Gardner. She was previously employed by J.C. Penney of Gardner as a sales clerk.
Lucille was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She was also a member of the American Legion Thomas P. Sweeney Post 142 of Ashburnham Women's Auxilliary and was a member of the Binnall House Council where she lived for many years. She enjoyed reading and playing Bingo.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Thomas E. Martin, who died February 12, 1994.
She leaves three daughters, Maureen L. Roy and her husband Gary of Ashburnham, Lisa A. Jean and her husband Keith of Winchendon and Debra R. Reid of Gardner; daughter-in-law, Carole Martin of Westminster; sister-in-law, Phyllis King of Orange Park, Florida; five grandchildren, Danielle Dietz, Jason and Jonathan Martin, Melissa Collins and Jillian Reid; five great-grandchildren, Misty, Haley, Tiffany and Joseph Collins and Ariana Dietz; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Daniel T. Martin who died in 2005 and by her brother, Ronald F. King.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Thursday, December 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
