Lucille G. "Lucy" (Finster) French, known to many as "Bahma", 80 of Granby, died peacefully Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in her son's home in Phillipston, following a long battle with cancer.
Born in Holyoke on August 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Julia (Zaluga) Finster.
Lucille graduated from Holyoke High School with the Class of 1952.
She was employed for many years as the bookkeeper of Avery Dennison, formerly National Blank Book, prior to retiring in 1997.
Lucille loved playing the slot machines and Bingo at Foxwoods Casino. She enjoyed Sci-Fi movies, baby-sitting, crafts and crossword puzzles. Lucille treasured spending time with her family.
She leaves one son, Curt French and his wife Bobbie of Phillipston; one grandson, Zachary French; several nieces and nephews; three cousins, Wendy Sliwa, William Wyman and Adrian Nowak. Lucille was predeceased by her brother, Walter Finster; and sister, Patricia Bellanger.
She also leaves many close friends that she considered family.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Lower Cemetery, Phillipston.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, November 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
