Louise E. "Lou" (Cormier) Labossiere, 74, of 255 Sherman Street, Gardner died peacefully Thursday, March 11th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Belmont Street, Worcester, following a long illness.
Louise was born in Gardner on July 21, 1935, the daughter of the late Emery J. and Rena A. (Richard) Cormier.
Louise was a secretary for Dr. Diane Rahman of Gardner for two years, retiring in 1996. She was previously employed by the Protestant Youth Center in Baldwinville, and she was formerly a hairdresser for 11 years, employed by Rita's Beauty Salon in Gardner.
She graduated from Our Lady of the Mountains in Gorham, NH with the Class of 1953. She later graduated from Wilfred Academy of Hair Design and Cosmetology in Boston.
Louise was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She was a fan of auto racing and baseball. She enjoyed bowling, reading, watching television, crossword puzzles and country line dancing.
Louise leaves her husband of 53 years, Philippe R. Labossiere of Gardner; four sons, Roger P. Labossiere of Gardner, David J. Labossiere and his close friend Jackie Chartier of Gardner, Michael L. Labossiere and his husband David W. Plunkett of Gardner and Thomas D. Labossiere and his fiancee Debbie Barresi of Fitchburg; one daughter, Lisa A. Brackett and her husband Bruce of Fitzwilliam, NH; five sisters, Ella A. L'Homme and her husband Emile of Holly Springs, NC, Helen P. Cormier of Meriden, CT, Yvonne E. Hoyt of Clinton, CT, Leonette B. Bligh and her husband William of Meriden, CT and Cecile C. Case and her husband Russell of South Paris, ME; six grandchildren, Robert Labossiere, Steven Labossiere, Brandi Christanovich, Benjamin Whitcher, Bethany Valentin and Richard Brackett; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 15th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, March 14th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
