Louis J. Poirier

Louis J. Poirier, 89, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, October 21, 2022, in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, Templeton, after a short illness.

Born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada on February 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Narcisse and Emma (Hebert) Poirier. He was a Custodian employed by Grafton Public Schools for several years prior to his retirement.

Louis was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. Louis was very active and loved to keep busy bowling, golfing, and cards. He loved all sports and was an avid fan of his Boston Bruins.

Louis is survived by his sister, Bertha Leonard of Gardner; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his two brothers, Albert and Eric Poirier; and four sisters, Marie Thebeau, Beatrice Richard, Flora Poirier, and Anita Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 31, 2022, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA. Family and friends are asked to report directly to the church on the day of the service.
