Lorraine M. (Poirier) Trinque, 85, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, formerly of 123 Bickford Hill Road, Gardner died peacefully Thursday, October 9th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
Born in Gardner on July 2, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Sylvia (Allain) Poirier.
Lorraine graduated from Gardner High School, Gardner with the Class of 1941.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
Lorraine loved the ocean, and loved to travel. She spent winters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, and participated in tournaments in both Gardner and Florida. Lorraine was an active leader for many years with the Girl Scouts. She was a wonderful homemaker, who truly loved her family and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Alfred E. Trinque who died January 8, 2001.
She leaves two daughters, Joan M. Szoc and her husband Peter of Gardner, and Jane T. Sheehy and her husand Timothy of Southboro, MA; one sister, Rachel Healey of Gardner; three grandchildren, Sarah, Brian and Daniel Sheehy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by six brothers, Clarence, Ernest, Henry, Gerald, Edward (Pete) and Francis Poirier and by one sister, Geraldine Reily.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Tuesday, October 14th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
