Lorraine M. (Dube) Murdock, 78, of Barre, died peacefully Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in The Highlands of Fitchburg, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on May 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Adrien and Lauretta (Plourde) Dube.
Lorraine graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1955. She was employed as a Secretary by Modern Contract of Gardner for several years, retiring in 1998.
Lorraine was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed gardening, was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, and loved to watch her husband play softball. Lorraine most enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves her loving husband and best friend, Arthur W. Murdock of Barre; one son, Larry Skamarycz and his wife Mercedes of VA; one daughter, Tina Scanlan of Gardner; step-daughter, Kim Murdock of Texas; five grandchildren, Amanda Cronin, Justin Skamarycz, Shane Skamarycz, Annie Skamarycz and Tiffany Scanlan-Houle; four great-grandchildren, Gavin Cronin, Reese Cronin, Jude Skamarycz and Reagan Houle; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandson, Larry Skamarycz; two brothers, Leo and Roland Dube; one sister, Alice Zablonski; and son-in-law, Timothy Scanlan.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 20th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
