Lorraine G. (Dery) Croteau, 77, of 46 Lincoln St., Gardner died Thursday in her residence following an illness.
Born in Gardner on August 8, 1926, she was the daughter of Emile and Leda-May (Girard) Dery.
She was a stitcher and upholsterer employed by Gem Crib Co. of Gardner for 5 years until retiring in 1987. She was previously employed by the E & A Corporation of Gardner.
Mrs. Croteau was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She was a member of the Montachusett Quilting Club and was an accomplished quilter, seamstress and doll maker. She also collected dolls and novelty toys.
Her husband of 53 years, Leon B. Croteau, died December 28, 2002.
She leaves 1 son, Bernard L. Croteau of Templeton; 3 daughters, Jacqueline M. Lawn of Gardner, Patricia A. Gould of Bedford, NH and Ann M. Callahan of Albany, GA; 1 brother, Robert Dery of Gardner; 1 sister, Phyllis Caron of Englewood, CA; 4 grandchildren, Lin Gould Varnum of Mammouth Lake, CA, Van Gould of San Diego, CA, Aaron Lawn of Los Angeles, CA and Matthew Callahan of Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Sylvio, Paul, Jules and Philip Dery and 1 sister, Priscilla Dery.
Funeral services will be held Monday from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
