Lorraine M. (Richard) Cormier, 88, of New Port Richey, FL and formerly of 45 Douglas Road, Gardner, died peacefully, Monday, July 14, 2014 in Marliere Care Center, New Port Richey, FL, with her husband by her side.
Born in Gardner on March 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Josephat and Irene "Eva" (Roy) Richard.
Lorraine graduated from the Presentation of Mary Academy of Hudson, NH.
She was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an office clerk for the Massachusetts Correctional Institution of Warwick, MA for five years, retiring in 1987. She was previously employed as the bookkeeper for Gardner Creamery Co., Inc. of Gardner for 37 years.
Lorraine was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, and its' Ladies of Ste. Anne Society. She was also a member of Queen of Peace Church of New Port Richey, FL.
Lorraine enjoyed volunteering at the annual Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Bazaar and loved playing Bingo, which she did for 20 years at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. She also enjoyed traveling and cooking.
Lorraine leaves her husband of 61 years, Aurele J. Cormier of New Port Richey, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Romeo A. Richard who died in 2012.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
